Fit and Materials: The bodice is constructed with internal structure akin to a corset, providing exceptional support and shaping. It features a flattering basque waistline at the front and a discreet lapped zipper closure at the back. The portrait collar, crafted from off-white silk satin, forms a V-shape at the center front, culminating in two triangular points that meet at the top of the zipper. The collar widens slightly at the back, adding dimension and visually breaking up the proportions for a pleasing aesthetic. The full A-line skirt is crafted from luxurious black silk satin, its hemline finished with a horsehair braid to ensure a smooth drape and ease of movement. The off-white silk satin handkerchief panels, strategically placed and shaped, create a dynamic interplay of color and texture, revealing glimpses of the fabric's underside and enhancing its luster. The bodice is fully lined in the corresponding fabric, while the skirt remains unlined to prevent excessive layering and overheating and to ensure comfort.
